  • 1 packet of yeast or 2 and 1/4 teaspoons of yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup honey

How to make homemade dinner rolls

  • In a saucepan, heat together the milk and the butter until it reaches 120 to 130 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Add the butter and milk mixture to a stand mixer. Add in the yeast and the honey. Mix and let it sit for 5 minutes to proof the yeast.
  • And in 2 and 1/4 cups flour, salt, and 1 egg and mix with the dough hook for 8 minutes.
  • Roll the dough into 12 balls and place in an 8×8 baking dish. Cover with a towel and let the rolls rise for 30 minutes, or until they are doubled in size.
  • Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 20-25 minutes.

Storage instructions

  • Store in an air tight container at room temperature for 4-5 days.
  • Freeze and store in an air tight container for up to 3 months. Wrap the rolls tightly in foil or plastic wrap before freezing.
